Sold to LRK in Nampa,Idaho, // The 1878 rifle was a joint project between Hugo Borchardt and Christian Sharps. This one was taken and sporterized from its original military rifle configuration and it was nicely done. It has the original Sharps checkered butt plate. The tang on the action was lengthened and tapped for a tang sight. The top of the action was squared off. The original makers markings are still on the side. The barrel is 30” long and is now chambered in 6.5x57R, of which I have brass and loaded ammo.
It has a new barrel, provided by the Borchardt Rifle Company in a New Mexico. I do not know who did the butt Stock but it is very nice. See photos as they are accurate. Currently set up as modern style hunting rifle, or you can swap out the barrel and put it back into one of the BPCR cartridges. Must ship to an FFL; credit cards accepted but please add the 3% fee.
