This rifle was built by the venerable CC Johnson of Thackery, Ohio back in the day, just not sure when! . It has a high combed stock for shooting with a scope, and the rifle was built with a very heavy 26” barrel that measures 1” at the muzzle. Its chambered in the 2R Lovell cartridge and has a perfect bore. The barrel is marked as CC Johnson’s and the caliber marking is there too. The double set triggers work perfectly and the action is still snug. Comes with target blocks and a clear Unertl 12X AO scope that has fine crosshairs. No scope caps. Now the extras that make this even more interesting are as follows. It comes with a set of loading tools also made by CC Johnson for this rifle. And I have Lovell brass for it that has been cleaned and re-annealed made by both WRA and Griffin and Howe. Apparently, G&H were the only ones who ever manufactured brass for this cartridge, all the other brass was reformed 25-20 SS brass. I also have a set of custom modern Redding dies for this rifle, not pictured. I think this might be the classic ground hog gun. Must ship to an FFL; credit cards accepted but please add the 3% fee. You will pay the actual shipping to your FFL holder. If you have any questions, please let me know. (pic #18 is the G&H brass) Strength and Honor! SOLD |
