Description:
This very well made 19th century heavy 1.180" dia. barrel has a muzzle measurement of .45cal and a super clean shiny rifled bore. The barrel round/octagonal is about 34 1/2" long with a smooth brown skin, Comes with a hooded froint sight and a buck horn type rear sight as well a an early peep sight. The American walnut stock is very good with a few handling dings and the furniture is brass with a pewter nose cap, and a round brass inlaid patch box. Comes with a simple oak ram-rod and the front ram-tod thimble has become loose and would seen to be re attached. Name and address clearly chisel engraved on top of the barrel.Overall this very heavy bench target rifle looks like it would be a tack driver.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
