Description:
A very interesting Militia dual purpose musket of the 19th century with a 42" long barrel and a muzzle measurement of .69 cal. ans may have started it's life as a flintlock. Has three escheceons and wedges holding the barrel like a military rifle/musket. The overall length is about 58" long, with American walnut full length stock and minor field handling dings and scrapes. Comes with a military iton mushrooom shaped ram-rod., and the well marked lock : PAYSON & nURSE works well. The side plate opposite the lock looks like a 19th century replacement. Ovrall the gun shows up well, and appears to be complete. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
