Description:
A historic Springfield Armory 1869 dated breech with a Springfield 1862 dared lock with a 32" barrel chambered for the .50-70 cartridge, and a clean bore with mild surface corrosion for black powder cartridges, but not pitted our, will spin bullet good. The exterior metal is armory blue through-out and the lockplate has a few speckles of pits lower front of the hammer. Action is tight and works well. Comes with a cleaing rod, and sights, and the American black walnut stock is is very good with the number stamped twice at 31 and has an oval proof mark between the lock screws. Overall a good example of the armories first 19 th century cartridge issued rifle. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
