SOLD Looking this over it looks al original to me with a very aged natural patina brass nose cap, and the barrel barrel band which looks like to was cleaned up reacently is hammered as there are pock marks on it, but may have had a newer screw used.. Comes with an early tupil original iron ram-rod.The lock works well, and the remainder of this fine gun, looks all original. The bore on the round 24" barrel . with mild pitting and maybe evidence of rifling? Most calvary carbine always had a smooth bore to charge at the enemies artillery to overtake their position and a carbine was fired at full gallup with the firearm under your arm and the other hand on the horse reins, This gun looks gun and most likely convertd in the 19th century from a two or three band rifle. It looks good to me. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
