Here is a cowboy classic from 100 years ago, a Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine in .30-30. The outside tells of a vigorous life with a crack in the fore-end and dings and dents everywhere. On the other hand it is a solid old rifle with good mechanics and a bore that's probably at least a 7 on a 1-10 scale. The metal is not rusted or pitted. I've shot this rilfe years ago when I first got it and everything works as it should. As an added bonus, if your name is Bill, it's already carved in the butt-stock.
