This is a scarce, original SS contract Steyr K98 from 1944. The receiver has the single rune proof with 'bnz 4' code, as well. All numbers are matching throughout, and right side of receiver is also BSW marked, so likely produced on a leftover BSW receiver. Excellent bluing on the metal parts. Period original sling, sight hood and cleaning rod. Terrific bore. Comes with a rare pouch that also features the SS runes and is only two pockets, as opposed to the far more common examples with three. These pouches are believed to have gone to tower guards in many occasions. Stock is not externally marked and has several dings and nicks but no cracks.
