Description:
***Not a Modified Choke.  See below.

The "Perfect Repeater."  The Model 1912.  The Model 12.  The M12.....she goes by many names.  The original base design came from...yes, we know, we bring him up a lot, but John Moses Browning and introduced to the public in November of 1897 notably as the Model 1897....which in turn evolved from the original Browning designed Model 1893 issued previously.  This was a solid framed 12 gauge with an external/exposed hammer.  There is A LOT of history on the Model 93 and especially the 97 and when we finally get our hands on one, we will tell it ALL.

For now, focusing on the Model 12....redesigned by Thomas Crossley "T.C." Johnson who took employment as an industrial engineer with Winchester starting in 1885, Johnson took the solid Model 1897 external hammer design of the shotgun and moved to an internal hammer platform.  All one would need to do is close the slide and take the shotgun off safe and she was ready to fire.  This updated version, called the Model 1912 and released to the public in.....you guessed it, 1912...was WILDLY popular and was produced until the dark ages of Winchester....or basically anything produced after 1964 when the Model 12 ceased production.  The main reason is the Model 12 was made with actual machined parts and in her later years was having a harder time competing with the much cheaper to manufacture Remington 870.  The Model 12 was so well made it saw use by the US Army, Navy and Marine Corps in WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

This particular piece is a real treasure, manufactured in 1948 and almost completely original configuration with the factory barrel professionally cut to 22" for riot configuration.  No other modifications present. Priced accordingly.  Get yours today!
