He asked, how can I make a single shot, break open pistol stout enough to handle anyone's hand loads....and wouldn't it be great if they could just own 1 single pistol for everything? After joining with the toolmaker K.W. Thompson in the mid 1960's the Contender was born and released to the public in 1967. These pistols are ICONIC for their strength and customization ability. The genius in her design was in the built-in dual firing pins with a selector on the exposed hammer to choose from rimfire or centerfire cartridges. In addition, the user can adjust their own trigger weight depending on the caliber in use. There is nothing else on the market quite like it and currently in production as a 2nd Generation, this 1st Generation unit still maintains the classic "Cougar" etching on the receiver. This package is set up for hunting, with a .357 Remington Mag, .44 Remington Mag and even a .30-30 Winchester barrels included. The .357 and .30-30 Win barrels are the "Super 14" variety with the heavier construction and mirror-like bluing. This pistol was loved and well cared for....even including upgraded Pachmyr grips/forearm and a 4x Burris pistol scope on the .357, a Laser C-More Systems Reflex Sight mounted to the .44 and a rail mounted to the .30-30.....an absolutely complete package and priced to sell! $50 Shipping for this unit.
