This is a very professional alteration of a police P08 Luger into a target pistol. It is equipped with a 5"" bull barrel which has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. Its outside diameter is 0.83"". The top of the barrel is marked 9mm Para and the left side of the receiver is marked WAFFEN-WEISS over MATCH 08. The serial number, 1085, is on the front of the frame and the left side of the rectiver. 85 is also on the trigger, remarked side plate, and safety. All other parts are unnumbered. The barrel, left side of the receiver under the side plate, and toggle have a small drooped wing eagle over N proof mark, obviously applied during the alteration. The front sight is a Partrige type and the rear is adjustable for windage and elevation. The muzzle has a target type recess. The pistol weighs 2.5 pounds. The magazine is blued and has an unnumbered wooden base. THe original police sear safety has been removed. There is no stock lug. The grip panels are new. The blue and straw fiinish are as new to the alteration. The action functions correctly. If you ever wanted a Luger target pistol, especially one altered in Germany probably just post war, then this one is defianately for you!
