Description:
This is the 2nd Variation with the tube loading system. 24 inch octagon barrel with a good bore. Original sights include a stationary v-notch rear sight and folding Lyman tang sight. Wood has a few minor handling mars. No splits or cracks. Rifle style buttplate. Metal is nice with about 80% bright original blue remaining. Sharp corners and excellent markings. Nice traces of case color remain on the hammer, lever and buttplate. Smooth action. There were about 18,650 of these rifles made from 1891-1897. These are hard to find in this condition.
