VERY HIGH CONDITION SPECIAL ORDER MARLIN 1894 RIFLE WITH EXTRA LONG 26" ROUND BARREL, FULL MAGAZINE, .25-20 CALIBER, #417XXX, MADE APPROX. 1909. Standard barrel length for these was 24" with anything longer being a rare special order. This example displays fairly vivid case colors on the receiver sides and top with some fading to silver mainly on the receiver bottom and upper tang. The sides of the lever also show some light case color that is more vivid in the protected areas. There is fine blue on the bolt and loading gate. The barrel and magazine tube retain nearly all the deep blue with only the most minor of wear. Even the forend cap retains some fine blue. Original buckhorn rear sight with Rocky Mountain blade front sight. Wood is excellent, has most of the original finish intact and displays tight wood to metal fit. All sharp and clear markings, excellent screws, strong half-cock/safety notch on the hammer, tight action and excellent bore. An exceptional, special order Marlin.
