This 1920 Navy Commercial can be identified by three key features: 1. The late toggle knobs; 2; The 6"" barrel; and 3. The crown over N commercial proof marks. Beyond this, there are several variations of these interesting Navy Lugers. THis gun has two unusual features: 1. The Navy type rear sight has the Navy ears but has only a fixed sighting notch, not the usual two-position sight, and 2. the thumb safety area is completely unmarked (documented in ""Lugers at Random"" by Charles Kenyon, pp. 182 & 183). This early gun, serial number 7, comes with its matching board stock. It has matching numbers on many of its parts with the remainder unnumbered, the expected crown over N proof marks on the barrel, receiver, and toggle. The toggle has the DWM mark and the chamber is unmarked. Overall, the gun is in about new condition. It has the correct Navy concentric circle base magazine which is lightly marked GERMANY. The action functions correctly. The stock is excellent. This may be your only chance to acquire a rare 1920 Navy Commercial Luger, especially with its early number and interesting features. Don't miss it! SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
