Description:
Egyptian Maadi ARM rifle manufactured in 1995 and chambered in 7.62x39mm. The Maadi rifle was produced in Egypt under lincense from the USSR during the Cold War. Manufactured using Russian machinery and under the supervision of Soviet technicians as part of a miltary aid package to Egypt. The Maadi was the primary battle rifle of Egyptian forces during the Middle Eastern wars of the 1960's and 1970's. When civilian versions called the ARM or MISR were imported into the U.S. during the 1980's by Steyr, they were and still are the closest collectors could get to a Soviet AKM in a factory built rifle. Maadi rifles were subsquently used in many films of this period such as Red Dawn, to stand in for Soviet AKM's. This Maadi is an early Post Ban ARM, imported by AAC International/INTRAC of Knoxville, TN and has the desirable factory threaded muzzle. Like other imported AK's from this period, the ATF required more and more "neutering" of the banned features such as requiring thumbhole stocks, full removal of bayonet lugs and muzzle threading until importation was stopped all together. This all numbers matching Maadi rifle is as desirable as they come for a post ban gun. The bayonet lug has only been lightly clipped, and the M14X1 LH muzzle threads are still present and sharp with a slant brake installed. The thumbhole stock could easily be replaced with a vintage Maadi "crutch" folding stock and blue pistol grip to make this rifle one very cool Cold War Era tribute rifle. This rifle is in excellent mechanical condition and the chrome lined hammer forged factory barrel is in outstanding condition. We have test fired this one and it works perfectly and shoots to point of aim. Sorry no box or paper work. Includes (1) 30 round magazine.
