Description:
Parker DHE 12 gauge SxS shotgun. Made in 1915 this gun has 28” Titanic steel barrels choked Mod (.020”) and Cyl bore in the left barrel. 2 ½” chambers. Built on a desirable 1 ½ frame this DHE has been fitted with a Single Selective Miller trigger.
The original straight grip buttstock has a 14 ½” LOP over a 1” DelGrego recoil pad and a ¼” spacer. That makes the LOP from the trigger to the wood 13 ¼”..note, theses dimensions are measured from the Miller trigger; if this were a double trigger gun the LOP would measure at least ½” longer!! The beavertail forearm may or may not be original. 1 ½” DAC & 2 ¼” DAH.
The barrel blue seems to be original retaining 97%. The case colors have been freshened and look Okay but not great. The engraving remains sharp and crisp. About 70% blue finish on the long tang trigger guard.
The bores are bright, the barrels are on face and the rest of the gun feels strong and tight.
One note: The forearm has two minor issues: The ejectors do not remain cocked when the forearm is removed to take apart the gun. Simple just use a wood block or something similar to cock the ejectors before reassembly. Also, the forearm wood needs adjusting or some shim material added to snug-up the forearm to the bottom of the barrels.
The gun weighs 7 lbs. 8 oz.
