Description:
Serial #2845e, 9mm Para., 4 inch barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is an early “S/42" coded pistol with “G" chamber date code (1935) and all-matching numbers that retains 80-85% of the original blue finish with gray fading and light surface freckling along the projecting edges and mild silvering at the muzzle and bearing surfaces of the toggle and bolt. Additionally, there is a very small and unobtrusive import mark along the underside of the barrel and remnants of the original white filling are still present on the “GESICHERT" marking. Some further fading and freckling are present on the grip straps and exterior of the trigger guard bow and traces of the original straw color are still present on the take-down lever, trigger, magazine release, and safety; a greater amount of the straw remains on the ejector. The checkered wooden grips are not numbered and have light wear throughout with flattening of the points on either side, mainly around the butt, and some purposefully flattened points on the right panel in the shape of a “V" surmounting a swastika (probably symbolizing “Victory over the Third Reich"). A single aluminum base magazine is included (numbered to a different gun) and the pistol rates very good plus-near fine condition overall. It’s a great example of an early pre-war, Mauser-produced Luger. FFL or C&R
