Description:
Charles Boswell SLE 12 gauge SxS shotgun. Nice older game gun with 28" modern sleeved London proofed (year 2000) barrels; chambered for 2 ¾” shells, .729” bores and .010” IC & .020” Mod chokes. Nicely engraved frame. My guess on the original manufacture date is pre WW I.
The once case colored receiver is now a bright polished finish. All engraving is still sharp but the frame has definitely been polished. Strong/solid mechanics, double triggers, automatic safety, automatic ejectors. Double underlug locks and a hidden third fastener.
The straight grip stock and splinter forearm appear to be original albeit refinished and recut checkering at some time. Wood to metal fit is proper. 14 11/16” LOP over a ¾” red recoil pad with 1 5/8” DAC and 2 5/8” DAH with 3/8” right hand cast.
This Boswell presents very well and will make the new owner a fine game gun and/or vintage sporting clays gun.
