Description: The Model 1895 was the last John M. Browning design for Winchester. An important historical distinction is that the Model 1895 was designed and engineered to accommodate a new generation of military cartridges utilizing smokeless powder. Another significant feature was the innovative non-detachable "box magazine." This design made it possible to chamber in the revolution of more powerful pointed bullets. Winchester was a tubular magazine company until the Model 1895 came along. It was the first box magazine rifle developed by Winchester. This Model 1895 was manufactured in 1922. It has standard receiver markings with a factory proof on top of the chamber and the upper tang has the three-line model/trademark information. It has a blade front sight. The ladder rear sight has been removed and it has an adjustable Lyman peep sight in the rear. The saddle ring and stud are mounted on the left side of the receiver. It is mounted with a straight grip walnut stock with military style grasping grooves, handguard and crescent buttplate with cleaning rod compartment (cleaning rod not included). The bluing is about 20%, but the metal is clean. The bottom of the butt stock has 38 notches carved into the stock. See photos. Chambered in 30-06, this highly collectible 1895 would also make a great hunting rifle. .30-06 Springfield SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Metal Condition: Bluing is approximately 20% Wood Condition: Very good Bore Condition: Very good Barrels: 22 Stock Dimensions: 12 1/2" Length of Pull Fore End: Two-piece walnut fore end with military style finger grooves Butt Pad: Crescent metal butt plate with compartment for cleaning rod (not included) Weight: 8.25 lbs Sights: Lyman adjustable peep sight with blade front sight Item Location: Boise, ID |
