Description:
"Serial number 6068. 45 LC caliber with a 7 ½" barrel. This is a cavalry model inspected by O. W. Ainsworth. The metal of this gun has been cleaned and has a light gray patina. Grips are very good. This gun was part of lot 6 issued to the US Cavalry and lot 5 and 6 were the guns shipped to the 7th cavalry. Several gun in the same serial range have provenance to the 7th cavalry and the battle of the little big horn. This gun comes with a letter from noted Colt expert John Kopec. Since Mr Kopec viewed this gun, the metal has been cleaned as he describes this gun as having an artificial brown patina. He also says the right side cartouche as being reapplied. Otherwise this gun is completely correct. This is a very fine Custer range Colt Single Action Army Cavalry Model!
