Description:
For your consideration, a Winchester model 1873 chambered in .40-40 Winchester Centerfire. The octagonal barrel is marked, ".44 W.C.F." The brass lifter is correspondingly marked, "44 CAL." Condition evidences the intervening 130 years of use, but not abuse. Overall, the finish has converted to a brown patina. This example dates to 1891. The rear sight riser is missing. .44-40 Winchester
