"Serial Number 11467. 45LC cavalry model with 5 1/8" barrel. This is a cavalry model inspected by O. W. Ainsworth. This gun during the period of use. This gun has a even brown patina throughout the metal with traces of an old nickel finish in the protected areas. The grips have been decorated with an aluminum medallion and brass diamond shaped inlays. This gun comes with letter from noted Colt expert John Kopec. Mr. Kopec says this was a gun shipped to the state of Virginia and then subsequently sold to surplus dealer Herman Boker. Mr. Kopec also listed all of the period alterations. Since Mr. Kopec’s letter, action has been repaired and works properly.
