All original Stevens 44 1/2 in .22 LR. Heavy 1/2 Octagon 1/2 Round barrel tapered from 1" at the breech to .805" at
the muzzle. Very smooth metal all over with no rust or pitting. Blade front sight with a buckhorn rear. Barrel is marked
".22 L.R." and with the Stevens name/address on the top flat. The receiver is smooth acting and snaps open and closed.
Strong hammer spring. The bore is rough but shootable. The walnut stock does not look to have ever been sanded and it
has the original steel crescent buttplate. The serial number, 8998, matches on the receiver and the barrel. This is a nice
example of an original and would make a great candidate for restoration if you choose. Thank you for looking and you can
