Nice untouched example of the Smith and Wesson 1st Model Single Action Revolver in 38 Caliber which is commonly called the "Baby Russian" due to its elongated ejector housing lug beneath the barrel which gives it a slight resemblance to the 44 Russian and American Models from the early 1870's. This one is in the 9000 range with matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, and latch...see photos and please pardon the old grease...this just came to us from an estate. 4 inch barrel, nickel finish with the early 1870's style checkered hard rubber grips with the plain S&W (non-monogrammed) logo at the top of each panel. Overall Condition Grades to NRA Antique Excellent with 95% original nickel plating intact. Hammer shows some light faded case colors while the latch and ejector star exhibit most of their original blue. Excellent barrel address and all screws and pins look to be good and serviceable. Original grips are excellent with nice checkering, no chips, cracks, or repairs. Action works with a Good respectable bore. Antique, No FFL required under Federal law, however state and local laws may vary. NY and NJ will require an FFL. No sales to NYC, DC, or Chicago.
