Description:
WORLD WAR II PRODUCTION MODEL 12 RIOT GUN, 12 GAUGE, #1026XXX, MADE 1943. This is a standard 20" barrel riot gun with Cylinder bore barrel (correctly marked "CYL" on the left side of the barrel ahead of the receiver). Most of these World War II production non-U. S. marked riot guns were purchased for police /prison use or more commonly as guard guns protecting factories producing products for the military and war effort. This example is mechanically tight with bright exc. bore and sharp markings. It is a takedown model with matching numbers. It retains fine blue overall with only normal edge wear mainly on the receiver and receiver bottom. The forend is excellent and the butt stock is solid with only light wood finish wear. It has the original butt plate that for some reason has two tiny holes drilled in it, top and bottom section. The only thing I can figure is that it might have had an identification plate screwed in to it at one time that might have indicated a business ownership or a rack number of some kind. Either way, it is very minor and you'd have to look for it to see it. A hard to find variation in very fine condition from a very historical time!
