At 6lb 12oz and with its 26” quick handling open-choked barrels it is an obvious forerunner of the famed Superlights. The upland gunners dream gun for grouse, woodcock, and quail. Serial number is 77xx. Made in Belgium. *** As with traditional double triggers the hunter has the option of first pulling one trigger and then moving to the second trigger as is typically done. With its innovative “Single Double Trigger” feature developed by Browning the hunter can pull the first trigger selected and then pull it again to fire the second barrel. Nice feature when birds are flushing all around you. *** The 26” barrels are chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells. They are topped by a raised solid tapered crosshatched rib. The bores are shiny and the bluing is excellent. The left side of the upper barrel is marked “Browning Arms Co. St. Louis MO”. The right side of the upper barrel is marked “Made in Belgium”. The lower barrel is bored 0.729 with a constriction of 0.005 for Skeet choke. The upper barrel is also bored 0.729 and has a constriction of 0.008 for a light Improved Cylinder choke. *** The pistol grip stock and semi-beavertail forearm are made of a nicely figured European walnut typical of the period. The checkering is crisp. Stock dimensions are 14-3/4” over a recoil pad by 1-1/2” by 2-1/4”. Slightly cast off for the righthanded shooter. *** Now a word on condition. The gun is in excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically. Of course there are a very few very minor handling marks. Most likely it has been refurbished but if so whoever completed the work did a first rate job of it. If you are a dyed-in-the-wool upland gunner then you know what a lethal smoothbore this is. Grouse, woodcock, and quail beware. These models do not come around very often. Better move quickly. *** I am an FFL and will need a signed copy of your dealer’s FFL license. Not for sale where prohibited by state or local laws. Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period and will only accept returns at buyer’s expense. SOLD |
