A clean strong U.S Springfield Armory 1878 marked breech, Trapdoor with 32 1/2" long barrel with clean shiny rifled bore with mild corrosion nearer the muzzle from stroage. Comes with the correct cleaning rod and the exterior metal is darl .brown and smooth with corrct barrel military proofsand very fine salt and pepper corrosion. Action works well, and this fine gun has a full cartouche' on the left side and it looks like 1882, and has a rear Buffington sight. SN 232939 ,and has the stacking swivel band . Overall a clean shootable U.S, trapdoor chambered for the black powder .45-70 shell .Stock may have typical field dings.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
