Winchester Model 1895 .405 Win. 24" Nickel steel barrel. Crescent steel butt. Open buckhorn rear sight. Lynam white bead front. 98% blue. Minor surface marks. Refilled sling stud holes. Made 1905. Introduced in 1904. It was the most powerful round ever developed for a Winchester lever action. 1st smokeless hi-powered rifle. Teddy Roosevelt said "The Winchester .405 is for me personally, the big medicine gun for lions." It was the highlight arm of his 1909-1910 African safari. What a truly great piece of history you can own today.
