Very Good to near excellent Marlin Model Golden 39-A Mountie 22 caliber rifle made in 1961, blued and walnut finish, gold trigger and gold fill in some of the lettering on barrel, Marlin logo plastic butt plate with white line spacer, full mag tube with loading liner, 20" barrel, take down frame, Marlin Bullseye intact, factory sling swivels installed, straight grip. Shoots short, long and long rifle 22 rimfire ammo. Very desirable variation of the Marlin 39A.
Stocks show just minor use and remain excellent with no splits or cracks and a couple of chips where it meets the upper tang. Bluing for the most part is excellent as well. Bore is mint and action is smooth/strong with a properly working half cock safety. Receiver factory drilled and tapped for various side peep and scope mounts. Original front and rear open sights are intact as is the original front sight hood. Barrel is marked "Micro-Groove" and has the "JM" stamp. Please have a gunsmith check it over before firing.
