Description:
Savage model 99EG in 300 Savage. Built in 1954, this rifle is factory drilled and tapped for both scope or tang peep sight. The gun is in excellent condition retaining 98% of the original blue and wood finish. The 24" barrel has a mint bore. Other features are a lever safety, engine turned bolt body, hand checkered walnut stock and forend, cartridge counter,and a factory steel buttplate. A barrel band front sling swivel and a rear sling swivel have been added with a period correct leather sling. Otherwise the rifle is original. The stock and forend are sound with no cracks or damage.The lever retains around 50% of the original case color. The rifle comes with Weaver bases and 1" rings installed. A classic big game rifle. C&R eligible.
