Description:
A unique and exceptional large percussion hunting rifle by DEVISMES in Paris, strong barrel of 67 cm, with sides and underlined with fine gorges, with slider rear sight and adjustable front sight, it is reinforced by a lower band fluted, and internally rifled with five large metric gauge stripes 18.2 mm (12 gauge), hemispherical base chimney and fire guard, barrel bronzed and marked on the upper panel DEVISME À PARIS and ACIER FONDU, plate underlined with aand marked JULES GUYON in an oval, hallmarked silver trims, guarantee hallmark and BD, one-shaped mouthpiece hood, trigger guard with finger rest and bearing the representation of a skull, plate diaper system opening onto a compartment by a push button in the butt, mid-length barrel mount, cheek butt and pistol grip sculpted with vegetable curls, tulip-tipped wand, a few tan spots, a reattaching baguette garnish, LT 108 cm, circa 1850, category D this magnificent rifle was made to special order by Jean-Louis François DEVISME (1806-1873) arquebusier in Paris (1843-1870) for Jules GUYON.
I have regulated the rifle with 0.690 round ball and will include them with the sale.
