Description:
This 45-70 Sharps rifle assembled by Meacham has a 28-1/4” tapered round barrel with a fixed front sight and adjustable rear. The stamping on the barrel reads “Old Reliable” “Sharps Rifle Co. Bridgeport Conn.” The Walnut buttstock and forend are in good condition. Both the forend and the buttstock have repaired cracks and the checkering on wrist of the buttstock has lost its sharpness as well as some minor usage dents. The bore has some scattered light pitting, but the rifling is still very pronounced. The receiver is in good condition and the action locks up tight. The gun has adjustable double set triggers and a steel buttplate. The metal finish is heavily worn throughout. Length of pull is 13-3/4”, overall length is 45”, and weight is 10.6 lbs.
