This piece is totally like the day it left the Biesen shop. Here is another classic Roger Biesen from the well-known shop of Al & Roger Biesen.

Mr. Roger Biesen was born in 1943 and was a machinist before joining his father Al Biesen in the 1970's full time. Roger manufactured the grip caps and butt plates that have been used on 100's upon 100's of custom rifles. Over the years Dad taught Roger all the ins and outs of building a Classic custom sporting rifle. Then in the early 1990's Rogers daughter, Paula Biesen-Malicki, joined the family business as an engraver and now is the last Biesen to keep the great legacy going as Roger passed away in October 2020. Al Biesen built a lot of rifles for Jack O'Connor and several rifles for Prince Abdorezza Pahlavi of Iran. Roger continued the tradition of workmanship and the Biesen style with their noted Fleur-De-Lis checkering style. The Biesen's preferred the pre-64 Model 70 action and the Mauser 98 action, they always worked with fine walnut. I don't believe they ever made a synthetic stocked rifle. Mr. Al Biesen passed away in Spokane in 2016 and the age of 98.
