Has anybody noticed?  Where have all the Fox 20ga. Graded guns gone?  A few years back you could cruise the internet or a good gun show and have a dozen choices of A Grade or better 20 ga. guns to choose from.  For the last 10 years I have been searching for Fox small bores and they are gone!  The shooting public caught on to the delightful handling characteristics of the A.H. Fox 20, bought them all up, and they aren't selling them.  When you consider there were only 3400 graded 20ga. Fox guns ever made, IN ALL GRADES, you understand why they are so hard to find.  This fine Fox, sn201763 made in 1921, is 1 of 366 Philly CE 20ga. guns ever made, likely less than 320 left in the world due to loss or damage!  Most that remain have had their stocks cut, barrels cut, parts replaced, etc., leaving even fewer Fox CE 20ga. guns that remain mostly intact.   Examine the factory order card we have included with the photos, and you will see the details of this gun.  At the bottom of the card it notes “new set of barrels” and this gun now has 28" IC/F barrels that are serial numbered to the gun with Fox proof marks.  We did bend the stock up to achieve modern shooting dimensions of 2 ¾” drop at heel and 1 5/8” drop at comb with 3/16” cast off for a right-handed shooter.  The wood is original to the gun with the factory original finish, terminating with a buttplate and a 14 1/8” LOP.  The nicely figured English walnut is without cracks or repairs and the wood-to-metal fit is superb.  Weighing just 6lbs. 1oz. and balanced perfectly 1/8” ahead of the hinge pin, it shoulders effortlessly for your fast upland birds.  What a great gun for the grouse and woodcock woods with RST SPREADER LOADS, or flushing birds on the open prairies with standard loads.  The gun retains all original factory parts and the only restoration is the newly rust blued barrels.  Even the wood has the original factory finish.  The engraving is clear and sharp, wonderfully cut by one of the finest and most prolific early American engravers, Joseph Loy, as evidenced by his stylized initials on the bottom of the receiver to the right and left of the vignette showing the setter on point.  The checkering is sharp and factory original, the screws are excellent, and the barrels have tight ribs and mirror bores...this is a great CE Fox small bore.  The barrels are tight on the breech face and hinge pin like a new gun. THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED GUN WITH A 90-DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY, the action and forend iron having been stripped to the smallest part, Ultrasonic cleaned, each part inspected for function and integrity, lubricated, and reassembled ready for another 100 years of service. Don’t let this one get away!  It is a delightful bird gun waiting for a new home, will do you well on the vintage clays course, and with its strong desirability and rarity, it will only go up in value as you enjoy its use. We have priced this gun to be the best choice on the internet for a Philly Fox CE 20ga., so you should not hesitate or she will be gone!  Thanks for looking.
