It’s not very often that I am stunned by a shotgun’s beauty. But in this instance, I am quite honestly smitten. Cole Fine Guns of San Antonio has been fortunate to be allowed to present for your consideration this Perugini & Visini 28/410 combo set. This fine shotgun weighs 5.8lbs as a 28 gauge and 6lbs even as a 410. The barrels are 30 inches. Perfect for clays and deadly in the field. The exhibition grade Turkish Walnut stock has a LOP of 16 inches. Drop at comb is 1 9/32, Drop at Heel 1 28/32. The barrels chamber end benefits from inlaid fine gold wire as well as the makers names in gold. The receiver is like I said something to behold. The engraver, Claudio Tomasoni, (deceased) expertly conveyed a sense of depth and detail that is virtually superior to any photograph. When you examine this artists work, you will feel as if you are standing there in real time. The left side features Mr. & Mrs. Grouse descending from the woodlot, while the right side depicts Roberta and Bobwhite flushing along a fence line. Let’s not forget the bottom of the receiver. There is King Pheasant and his hen. And the trigger guard forgotten either, for there is in profile we find Mr. Ringneck in all his glory. This piece has had less than 150 total cartridges fired through it. Its construction is so elegant that it closes as a vault would. Even the forends snick into place quietly yet solidly. This is truly an investment piece of the highest order. One that you will enjoy just gazing upon almost or more than actually shooting the piece. Please take your time and view these pictures.
