GORGEOUS Engraved Pearl Case-Colored 1st Generation COLT SAA in .38 SPL
1929 Manufacture Colt Single Action Army Showpiece!
Here we present a 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver in .38 Special, made in 1929 in Hartford, Connecticut. This one features a 5-1/2 inch barrel length and 70% coverage of broad floral scrolls with a punch-dotted background on nearly every external surface. The frame was left unengraved and was instead case colored. The combination of the blued barrel, trigger guard, and grip frame with the case-colored frame is far more subtle than the bright nickel finish on many an engraved Colt, and contrasts nicely with the bright mother of pearl grips.
The overall condition is excellent. The action is strong and crisp. The bore is bright and mirror-like. The engravings are sharp. Lovely case-colored finish on the frame with a blued barrel and gold accents. The grips are genuine luminescent mother of pearl. There is a small chip at the heel of the left grip but otherwise the grips are whole and solid. This is a one-of-a-kind Colt Single Action Army that is as much art as gun.
