Description:
This is the later version of the model 69, refered to as the 69A, which was introduced in 1938 with a redesigned bolt that cocked on opening, rather then closing. This design change proved to be easier and quicker to use, and moved the safety to the side where it is operated with the thumb. This gun has a mirror bore in the 25" barrel, which carries 90% or better of the original factory blue. All barrel script and proof marks are clear and crisp, and it has the original sight package intact. The walnut stock has had sling lugs and a nice leather sling added at some point and shows numerous small knicks and a few light scratches. I dont see where it has been repaired or refinished, and the butt plate is in great shape. Gun comes with the optional 10 round magazine that is peroid correct. Still a nice vintage squirrel gun in very good condition.
