"Serial number38300. Made in 1870. 44 RF caliber with a 24" barrel. Bolt has also been converted to centerfire, so this gun is technically in dual caliber. Barrel has a chocolate brown patina. The frame, forend cap and butt plate is very nicely New York engraved. Frame still has most of the original nickel finish. Wood is very good. Lever is most likely a replacement as the condition is not as good as the rest of the gun. Action works fine. Bore is dark with pitting, but does have strong rifling. Very fine New York Engraved Winchester 1866!
