The Browning Superposed is one of the finest over/under shotguns in history and one of John Browning’s most brilliant designs.  Produced in plain-Jane field grades to the most elaborately engraved and finely stocked shotguns ever seen, production of the Browning Superposed was done in Belgium, running strong from 1931 through 1977 when traditional production stopped.  The Browning Superposed, or B25, from 1977-1984 was now available as a FN Belgium made product labeled the “PRESENTATION SERIES”.  There were 4 levels of production guns, the P-1 through the P-4.  The first two level of guns were acid etched engraving for cost savings, the P-3 had hand engraved vignette scenes, and the P-4 was entirely hand engraved.  The B25 we offer here was part of the Limited Edition Waterfowl Series that began with the American Mallard Issue, released in 1981.  1982 launched the Pintail Issue, and 1983 launched the Black Duck Issue.  Each were limited to 500 guns, but in fact were produced in lower numbers, ie 356 Mallards, 280 Pintails, and 314 Black Duck Issues.  This Browning Superposed Limited Edition Pintail Issue, sn8H4PZ00319 built in 1982, is a FACTORY ORIGINAL, UNTOUCHED B25 in 99%+++ condition, with no marks or loss of bluing, no wear at all on the action, and a few tiny handling marks in the buttstock.  THIS IS A RARE, VALUABLE, INVESTMENT QUALITY BROWNING, ONE OF 280 EVER PRODUCED!  The French walnut stocks are highly figured exhibition grade wood, with a hand-rubbed oil finish, the best figure you will ever see on any Waterfowl Series Browning.  We all know that wood quality is what enhances value from one gun to the next, and Browning lovers are known to trade up to get the best wood available on the model in question.  The Waterfowl Series, including this rarely seen Pintail Issue, were in the same price and quality range as the P-3 Grade, with the exception that the Waterfowl Series had French walnut rather than the American walnut on the P-3 guns.  Look closely at the photos and you will see stunning, highly detailed, full coverage engraving, perfect wood-to-metal fit, and impeccable 28LPI checkering with elaborate borders.  Keep in mind these were all hand fitted, master craftsman produced guns, rarely seen in today’s modern CNC era of gun making.  Presented in a walnut display case (included in this sale) the Browning Pintail is a stunning gun, with 7 heavy, raised gold inlays, framed by inlaid gold wire on each side forming vignettes, the engraving contained within being hand-cut and signed by master engravers Jeannine Pirotte and J. Schurgers.  This gun is AS NEW, THE BARRELS STILL STIFF ON THE HINGE WITH TOP LEVER WELL TO THE RIGHT OF CENTER, ALL OF THE GOLD REMAINING ON THE TRIGGER, AND ZERO WEAR ON THE CHECKERING.  The checkered butt has not a mark or a nick.  We often see the American Mallard Issue for sale, but rarely does the Pintail become available for sale and is the most difficult of the Series to acquire.  You won’t find a nicer one, and we have priced this gun to sell.  See all the specifications below. Thanks for looking, and don’t miss this stunning Browning B25.
