We offer you an “Unmarked” English Thumb Release Single Shot Rook Rifle in .290 Caliber.
The serial number on this Rook rifle is 10509 which are matching on all the accessible parts. It has the number “4” marked on the parts which might have been an assembly number. It wears a 26 inch full octagon barrel that has an excellent bore with just a slight roughness at the throat. The barrel shows pitting, marks and dings as you can see. The action is tight and the rifle functions as it should. The forearm has a chip on the left side at the receiver as pictures. The butt stock is solid with a few very minor age cracks. The markings are shown in the pictures which one is the “definitive proof of the barrel proved once only” London marking. There is a broken screw on the bottom of the tang as you can see in the pictures. We have shown the complete rifle for your consideration.
