Description:
Beautiful early post war Model 70 in wonderful old 30-06. This one is S/N 113*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1949. 97% Blue and Varnish with the usual scattering of minor marks but nothing at all noteworthy. 24" barrel with an excellent bore. The mechanical functions are also smooth and proper in all regards. All original finishes and components including the factory issued Lyman 48WJS rear receiver sight and the rare flat topped Lyman 12S factory issued barrel dovetail filler. This rifle has never had a 22g rear sight installed as evidenced by the lack of any elevator track whatsoever. The receiver sight has all matching component #s and works as intended with good clicks. A really great rifle in what many truly seasoned hunters consider to be the greatest all around caliber ever conceived!
