Description:
Serial #916, .32-40, 26" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome, pre-1935 rifle that retains 97-98% of the original brilliant color case-hardening on the receiver, that has only some mild gray fading near the top of the frame, and on the bearing surfaces of the lever. The six-pointed inspection star is crisp on the top tang, with raised metal around the edges. Matching numbers are present on the inside of the top tang and in the wood inside the tang inletting. The round barrel and magazine tube have a commensurate amount of original bright blue remaining, with some mild freckling near the muzzle, as well as some minor areas of pinprick pitting through the blue at the muzzle. The forend has a series of faint surface scratches along the underside, and the buttstock has a handful of very minor handling marks marring the otherwise excellent original finish. The crescent buttplate has some gray fading at the heel and toe, but retains most of the original blue. This is a fantastic, beautiful Marlin, in excellent condition, and chambered in very desirable cartridge. FFL or C&R
