SOLD $1475. This is an exceptionally attractive 1877 Colt Double Action .38 Lightning. Manufactured in 1880. 3.5” barrel ‘Sheriffs / Storekeeper’s’ Model. Original .38 Long / Short Colt centerfire. Excellent nickel finish. Excellent fit and feel. Pistol operates well in both single and double action. Locks up smoothly and securely. All lettering sharp and clear. A lot of fire blue showing on screws. This is a truly beautiful gun with excellent condition checkered grips. Slight nick in bottom of one. See photo. This gun was designed by William Mason who was the designer of the Colt Single Action Army pistol and the Richards Mason conversions of percussion pistols in the 1870's. This is as nice of a Lightning as I’ve seen since the 1960’s. LAYAWAY or partial or full trades of percussion or antique cartridge revolvers are always possible. Just email! Sold as a collector’s black powder item only! Please have checked by a competent gunsmith prior to shooting. Buyer verifies that this pistol is legal for him to receive and possess in his place of residence. For what it's worth, the low five digit serial number has 4 deuces in it. Would very likely have appealed to a gambler in the 1880's. Antique. No FFL required.
