Manufactured in 1880. 3.5” barrel ‘Sheriffs / Storekeeper’s’ Model. Original .38 Long / Short Colt centerfire. Excellent nickel finish. Excellent fit and feel. Pistol operates well in both single and double action. Locks up smoothly and securely. All lettering sharp and clear. A lot of fire blue showing on screws. This is a truly beautiful gun with excellent condition checkered grips. Slight nick in bottom of one. See photo. This gun was designed by William Mason who was the designer of the Colt Single Action Army pistol and the Richards Mason conversions of percussion pistols in the 1870's.
