Description:
For sale is a Gew 98 Military Mauser that was sportarized probably by a guild gunsmith post war and a GI bring back. I originally thought this was chambered in 8x57 but recently a potential buyer pointed out this is probably a 8x60 chambering as a 8x57 No go guage easily closes on this chamber. This Rifle has double set triggers and a claw mount scope base. This rifle does not have any import markings and is chambered in 8mm Mauser. the bore has plenty of rifling but it is dark and pitted. It has engraving on the receiver, trigger guard barrel and floor plate. Markings on the left side of the receiver are german proof marks.
