SOUTHEAST ASIAN MATCHLOCK MUSKET CA. LATE 1880’S-EARLY 1900’S. 56” o/a with 39” smoothbore .47 cal. round barrel. Crude handmade coil spring mechanism. Simple form of matchlock with touchhole having no cover or pan. Wood stock of European form. Old red plaid fabric decorative tie added to trigger guard. Dark metal with old patina. Stock with the original finish. Lock spring without tension but still functions manually.
