Will consider reasonable offers. J H Johnston Franklin Co PA 1811-1889, This is a fine example of a FANCY J. H. Johnston Percussion antique Rifle, The Patchbox and Thumbpiece are engraved, Eagle cheekpiece, Incised carvings front and back. Approximately 42 inch Barrel is Uncut. Barrel is inscripted on the top flat part with J. H. Johnston. John H. was father of James Hampton Johnston, Allegheny Co, PA. The bore is descent with visable rifling, looks to be a 44 caliber or there abouts. Double set trigger action functions properly. London warranted Lock. The rifle is approximately 57 inches long.
