We offer you an “” Remington “The RangeMaster Model 37” .22 Target Rifle that was made in July of 1947.
This model 37 RangeMaster wears the date code of “OSS”, which tells us it was manufactured in July of 1947. The metal was refinished at some time in the last 74 years and the bluing is in excellent condition. There are no signs of pitting under the finish and the markings are clean and clear. The 28 inch barrel has an excellent bore with no issues. The barrel wears the factory scope blocks as shown. The safety has been removed which was done quite frequently on these. The safety lever and shaft are included with the rifle but not shown. It sits in a right hand thumb hole laminated stock. It has a full length Freeland rail on the bottom with a completely adjustable butt plate system. There is no magazine or single shot adaptor with the rifle. It is loaded manually but could have a block added for loading if wanted but now there is nothing there. The serial number on the bolt matches the receiver. The rifle functions just fine as is but should be checked out by a Gunsmith and can use a good cleaning from sitting for a long time.
