Description:
If you have been looking for a high-condition, all-original, top-quality SA Dagger, this is it.  This Nazi Germany SA Dagger is in beautiful condition and is complete with it's original scabbard and leather hanger.  It is RZM blade-marked "M7/13" which is the maker code for the Arthur Schuttelhofer & Co. firm which was located in the famous Solingen-Wald knife-making region of Germany.  This SA Dagger has never been on the collector's market previously, having spent it's entire time here in the States within the family that brought it back as a war trophy.  The factory plating on this knife and scabbard is great shape overall, with both crossguards bright and clean and showing only minor marring/speckling in spots.  The Nazi Wreath Eagle inlaid into the middle of handle is in excellent shape, as-is the enameled SA roundel at the top center.  The blade itself has never been sharpened or polished, showing only some minor staining and runner marks from the scabbard, but with the original crossgrain in the blade clearly visible from the crossguard all the way to the tip on both sides.  The "Alles fur Deutschland" (All for Germany)motto is crisp and clean, and was never darkened like most of the pre-RZM SA Daggers. The RZM maker mark on the opposite side of the blade is also crisp, clean, and and of uniform depth.  The original handle is free from any cracks, chips, or repairs, and shows only some VERY minor handling marks in the wood.  All of the fittings are nice and tight with no wiggle, and the endcap nut appears to be unturned since leaving the factory.  Like all original SA Daggers, this piece is first-quality in every way.  The original scabbard with this dagger is just as superb as the dagger itself, with it's beautiful factory-original gloss brown paint showing only a few tiny handling/storage marks.  Both sides are free from any dents or damage, both the throat piece and end cap are tight and in excellent condition, and all four of the tiny retaining screws are still intact and in superb shape. The ball at the end of the scabbard is in perfect condition, showing no signs of having been dropped like so many you will see.  The fit between the crossguard of the dagger and the throat piece of the scabbard is perfect, a telltale sign of being original to each other.  The original leather hanger with this dagger is in excellent shape as well.  It is RZM marked "M5/71" on the back of the snap.  The leather is still fairly flexible and all of the hardware is intact and in excellent condition, including the spring-loaded snap.  The dark brown finish on the exterior of the leather still looks great, with only one spot at the 3rd hole from the end showing a crack across it (it is only superficial to the outermost brown-finished layer).  All in all, this SA Dagger would be an excellent addition to any WW2 Militaria collection, and would make an excellent display piece alongside a Third Reich handgun.  We don't see these very often in such beautiful all-original shape!
