Description: Serial (Batch)#18900, .22 RF, 2 1/8 inch part round / octagon barrel with a good plus bore showing very light pitting. This is the Vest Pocket Derringer manufactured by the Ethan Allen Company in Worcester, MA. The gun measures 3 7/8 inches long and was advertised as being the smallest and lightest pistol on the market. The barrel pivots to the right for loading and was not made with an extractor. This specimen is nickel plated with 96-97% remaining finish showing a few tiny flakes scattered about, minor handling marks and some specks of fine oxidation staining, mostly along the left and back side of the hammer. The top barrel flat retains a very nice crisp “E. ALLEN & Co. MAKERS." stamp. The slab-sided walnut grips remain in very fine condition showing some light handling marks and very minor warping along the bottom edge. The action seems to function well mechanically. The barrel and frame have matching numbers. A rare find in any condition this will make a wonderful addition to any collection.
