Description:
This is a men's two pocket battledress jacket (size 24) in somewhat coarse khaki serge with button front and buckle closure on the hem. The jacket is in excellent shape and has an intact olive green cloth lining with a full complement of buttons and a clear maker's stamp on the interior: “S. STALL & SON LTD. / WINNIPEG, MAN. / 1943", “FEBRUARY" surcharge, and a large “C (Broad Arrow)" inkstamp. The sleeves have the patches and tartan flashes of the Royal Highland Regiment of Canada (The Black Watch), as well as metal Warrant Officer Class II rank insignia near the cuffs. Also included are three sewn WW2 Canadian ribbons: Defence Medal, Volunteer Service Medal with maple leaf, and the War Medal 1939-1945. The ribbons are housed in a small plastic bag along with two spare buttons. This is an excellent example of an original WW2 Canadian uniform item.
